Acts 28:26-27

Good Morning, the Sun Is Peaking Out

Good morning!! Yes, the sun is peaking out, checking to see if all is well. I urged him to cool it down for today, but I don’t think he heard me.

I think about Isaiah going to the people and giving them a message from The Holy Spirit. Paul repeats it in Acts Chapter 28Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive….

” You will keep on hearing but will not understand. You will keep on seeing but not perceive. For the hearts (the understanding, the soul) of this people has become dull (calloused). And with ears they scarcely hear. and they have shut their eyes (to the truth); Otherwise, they might see with their eyes. and hear with their ears. And understand with their heart and return (to me) and I would heal them.”

Frequently, I think and feel the same way about those that repeatedly stand at our door. I wonder what it will take for them to see, hear and receive the real help that is being offered. That they will see the possibilities that are being offered, to hear our offers to help them rebuild their lives, not just a Band-Aid for today. I believe that they have settled so deeply into the life they are experiencing that they can’t comprehend anything different. Like God it also breaks my heart.

This is also a concern for me. What if I too have sunk into that abyss. That I am missing things that are being offered to me, that I can’t hear the voice of God nor the Holy Spirit. That I cannot see the things God has for me.

My prayer is that I might be given the gift of sight, ears that hear the faintest sound, a heart so soft and supple that it is open to the healing power of God. That if I am facing the wrong direction that I am turned around so that my face is always pointing towards God.

There is a saying, which is so very true, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” My goal is to keep searching until I do know.

Love, Pam
