John 14:8-9

What Will It Take to Satisfy You?

John 14:8-9Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? What will it take to satisfy you? Why does it take so much “proof” to convince us what we see, hear and feel is the real deal? Why do we keep needing one more sign, one more wonder, one more EVENT before we give up our doubts and go “whole hog” in our belief?

John 14: 8-9 Phillip said to him ” Lord, show us the father and then we will be satisfied.” The disciples had been with him for 3 YEARS, daily walking and talking with him, watching people healed, raised from the dead, miracles upon miracles. And yet… still they needed more.

I am sure that Jesus had a very exasperated expression on his face. I would have. I know that. We see signs and miracles today; you just have to look for them. They are all around you. Some days I am tempted to walk around with a chunk of post it notes with the word miracle written on them. I’ll just post them on every miracle I come across. Would that help?

The thing is I don’t think it would help. My showing them to you would only work if you already were looking for them and recognizing the magnitude of what you were seeing.

I don’t need signs and wonders to believe Jesus was who he was, I don’t need a God sent vision to know that he is real and with me every moment of every day. They sure are nice but belief is a choice, one I choose every day.

If you see a bunch of people walking around with post it notes stuck to them, that might have been me. Just so you know, don’t stand still for too long I might stick one to you too.

I pray you see your miracle today. Look for it.

Love, Pam
