1 Corinthians 9:19-25

Today Is Another Day

Today is another day. The sun has not raised its sleepy head just yet, but I know that it will. I don’t have any idea what is coming my way but I am glad in the prospect of it. God created THIS day with plans for me in it.

Yesterday was not the most pleasant of days I can honestly say I did the best I could with it, but it was not one of my favorites. It had me in my head, not something I recommend for a visit.

1 Corinthians 9: 19-25For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more… Paul is trying to tell why he does what he does. “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to everyone, so that I may win more (for Christ). To the Jews I became as a Jew so that I might win Jews ( for Christ) to men under the law ( I became) as one under the law, to those who are outside the law I became as one without the law though ( I am ) not without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become ALL things to ALL men, so that I may by all means (in any way and every way) save some by leading them to faith in Jesus Christ ). And I do all this for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings along with you.

That’s the goal. As followers of Jesus, we are commissioned to win those around us for Christ. By all ways and all means. People relate to others lots of the time because they see them as the same as themselves. I am you and you are me and together we can do this (thing)

Paul says he has been entrusted with a sacred stewardship. He wasn’t wrong but so have you and I. So have we! Further down he tells us we all have a race to run ( I was not built to be a runner) nevertheless I will give it my best. I know what the prize is and I intend for it to be mine.

Here comes that big ball of glorious light… got a little running to do today.

Love, Pam
