Do You Know Who You Are Today?

Do you know who you are today? Do you wonder what purpose you have here in this time and this place? Do you ever think you are nothing special? Ever wonder why in this world did God CHOOSE to create you? I do. I often question why God would pick me to form? Why me? Was I a design flaw, he could certainly have done so much better than what I have turned out to be. I often remark to him that I don’t understand the why behind his decision to create such a damaged soul. In the dead of night, when my world is quiet and the only sounds are those of his creations singing their night songs, frogs croaking, crickets chirping, owls hooting across the branch to each other, the possum who comes to check for left out dinner, he whispers… because I needed someone to love and you were the perfect one. Yes, I knew you would be a hand full. Flawed. Hardheaded. Opinionated. Irreverent, Loud mouthed. I knew you would not only be broken but shattered in a million pieces. I saw you and knew that you were the one who would need my love the most. I picked you for just that reason. I knew you would need me more than all the rest.” He was so very right.

If this morning you are looking at your brokenness and not feeling like enough. That’s the very reason God loves you so much. You are his chosen, his beloved, his perfect creation. He knows everything about you and he still chooses you, every day.

The reason I love him with all that I am is that he chose me 75 years ago and he still chooses me every single day. On my extra messy days, my less than stellar moments, my total failure days he still loves me. He’s certainly shaking his head but he still loves me. Isn’t that amazing?

Every day I wake up and intentionally choose God, how could I not?

He chose you, too.
