Psalms 142; Psalms 143

Prayer Is an Integral Part of My Life

Prayer is an integral part of my life. Sometimes those prayers are conversational. Just a little chat with the Father, some are filled with uncertainty, some with sorrow, all with thanksgiving. Then there are those who are beyond the scope of my ability to speak out loud. I just don’t have the right words to say what my heart longs for, is troubled by, anguished by a situation so that I am at a loss to even form a coherent thought. What then?

I am not eloquent, just plain me. Rough around the edges. Do I sit in silence? God already knows my issues, the desires of my heart. Does he really need me to tell him, again?

Today I can’t pray another word, I just don’t have anything else to add. I really don’t even know what to pray for. So my parting shot is , “God I am your mess, my life and my will is placed in your hands would you, Please, just do whatever it is you want and hand it back to me in a neat little package? I’m not good with reading instructions so could you show me the way today?”

My devotion today just happens to be Psalms 142I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication… and 143Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness…. Go figure!
They are David’s prayers for help in troubled times, for guidance. He is one eloquent dude. Has all the words. I honestly had forgotten those last lines of 143, but if it’s good enough for David then so be it.

Just in case you don’t remember them here they are…

In your righteousness bring my life out of trouble. , In your loving kindness, silence and destroy my enemies. And destroy all those who afflict my life., For I am your servant. Well played, David, well played.

Having a strong prayer life is essential in these days. If you, like me are struggling with your prayers this morning just turn to old David he has one to fit any situation.

Love, Pam
