Have You Ever Felt Persecuted?
Have you ever felt persecuted? For your choice of how you follow Jesus or how you worship or how you (try) to keep his commandments? Do you take your religious freedoms for granted? Do you just assume that you can go to church whenever you want to? Serve God as he commanded you to where you wanted or needed to? I’ve got a word for you.
DON’T!
Yes, we are taught that we have constitutional rights that protect all of that. Do you really believe it? Do you just take it for granted because you have not experienced not being able to that you can? Anywhere and in any way that you choose? Do you know what it would take for you to legally defend that right?
My tenth Great Grandfather arrived on this land aboard a leaky old ship called the Mayflower. You may say that was a bad thing. They had no idea of the impact they would have on the occupants already here. What I do know is that for them it was worship freely or die trying. Most of them died that first year. I still believe that for them the trip was worth it.
How about you? What would you do to worship God as you believe is right? What if you were told that you could only worship in specific places under specific conditions and times? Or what if you needed to get a permit from the powers that be, ask permission.
My prayer this morning is that I would/will be a Daniel, a Shadrack, Meshach or Abednego. To stand tall, even when there are those who wish to silence me even put me to death. For me there is no compromise worth my soul. With my God it is all or nothing. There is no halfway. I can’t worship on Sunday and kneel on Monday. My ancestors genes still run through every particle within me.
Anyone know where a large creaky leaky boat is for sale?
Love, Pam
