Luke 3

Heads Up! Keep Your Eyes Open

Heads up! Keep your eyes open. I think this Friday is going to have the attitude of a angry Monday!

Reading Luke this Morning. Chapter 3. I can’t wait to meet John the Baptist!! I do love a person who tells it like they see it. I don’t have to guess at what they believe nor how they feel. John was the MAN!!

Next time I am all out of sorts my go to word is going to be “YOU BROOD OF VIPERS!” Sometimes you have to get people’s attention let them know just how serious the situation is.

John tells us that as followers and believers we are to produce fruits worthy of and consistent with our repentance. To live lives changed from sin and seek God and his righteousness. In the South one if not the one important question is,“Who’s your grandma? ” John says to not even go there!! In other words we are to stand on our own, who you are and where you came from doesn’t count.

Are my fruits worthy of my repentance? Mine can’t possibly be… I know that God forgives and forgets but I can’t forget. I am overwhelmed with gratitude every morning when I open my eyes and remember that I am still forgiven, still a child of my FATHER, still loved, still chosen. My gratitude is fresh and new each day.

Today seems like a good day to plant some new fruit trees.

Love, Pam
